“Hidden Miracles in the Walled City” Workshop and Competition Event Completed Successfully
The workshop and competition “Hidden Miracles in the Walled City”, organized by the Faculty of Architecture of the Near East University, was successfully completed on 27-28 April 2018.

KTMMOB has contributed to the Chamber of Architects, Alanya Hamdullah Emin Pasha University, Girne University, Girne American University, Lefke European University and International Cyprus University with the participation of student and faculty members The most important feature of the workshop was the creation of working groups attended by a student from every university. Therefore, each university won the first, second and third prize. The Two-day study came from different schools in harmony with the groups, working together to make very creative and successful studies, as well as the lifelong friendships have formed.

On the first day of the Event, faculty member of the Near East University Faculty of Architecture, Assistant Prof. Dr. Havva Arslangazi made a presentation titled “Architectural Traces on the Streets of Nicosia” which is very useful to our students at the beginning of the study, describing the historical development of Suriçi in the building of the Nicosia Chamber of Architects. Later, Milorad Pavlovic, faculty member of Alanya Hamdullah Emin Paşa University Faculty of Architecture, titled “Concepts of Photography of Architecture”, presented valuable information about photography and photo shooting to participating students and teaching Shared with members. After the Presentations, the participants were photographing in the Suriçi. On the evening of the Same day, the groups were prepared for the competition by continuing their work at the NEU Architecture Faculty building.

On the second day of the Event, in the competition held at the Grand Library Fair, Emin Cizenel, Hikmet Uluçam, Gazi Yüksel, Milorad Pavlovic, Zeynep Yagmur, Gökhan Okur, Sevinc Kurt, Semra Sema Uzunoğlu, Ayça Arslan, Hülya Kolozali and Ceyda Alçıcıoğlu As jury members, they took place in the process of evaluating studies. As a result of the Evaluation, “SOFıA” and “NıCHO” Nickers participated in the contest, Taha Berkehan Altunpara, Harun Cevheroğlu, Ghaid Waste, Burak Şakar, Murat Demirkan, Aslı Kizilkaya and Emine Nurgul Hammaloğlu Group was awarded the first prize. Fatmanur Özses, Fatih Utku, Mustafa Ahmed Gaber, Oğuzhan Zorba, Şüheda Akyüz and Utkay Çelik won the second prize in the competition they participated in with their nickname “AEX10” and “SALA7”. With the nickname “MERCK”, Kasim Uslu, Tolgahan Avci, Kevser Songur, Hilal Kaya, Ahmet Selçuk Öyan and Zekiye Bedia Tekin were awarded the third prize.

At the end of the Event, an award ceremony was held, where various gifts were presented with the participation documents of the groups that entered and failed to rank.
