Assist.Prof.Dr. Havva Arslangazi Uzunahmet
Havva Arslangazi Uzunahmet was born in Nicosia, Cyprus on 6 April 1976. She joined primary school in
Yılmazköy Primary School. She completed both secondary and high school in 20 Temmuz High School. In
1993, she joined the Department of History of Art, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Selçuk University and
received her bachelor’s degree in 1997. From the same university, she received pedagogical certificate.
After the preparatory school education for one year, she started her master in the field of history of art,
Institute of Social Science, İstanbul Technical University and achieved her master degree in 2000. She
received her doctoral degree (PhD) in the field of Turkish Art from Institute of Türkyat, Marmara University
in 2007. Also she joined doctorate program in the field of history and theory of architecture, Institute of
Applied Science, Yıldız Technical University in 2002. She completed her courses and obtained PhD
proficiency exam in this program, and she decided to prepare her thesis for publication, because she
already received her doctoral degree from another university.
She worked as an English teacher in several elementary schools and high schools in İstanbul from 1998 to
2002. Since 2004, Assist.Prof.Dr. Havva Arslangazi Uzunahmet, who works at the Near East University
Faculty of Architecture, was appointed as an assistant professor at the same university in December 2017.
He has many articles in national and international indexed journals. She has also presented papers at
international or national conferences. She served as an organizing member of various national exhibitions,
seminars and international conferences. She supervised many master's and doctoral theses. He has held
various administrative positions such as Board Member of Institute of Science and Technology, Graduate
Coordinator of Faculty of Architecture, Department Coordinator of Architectural Restoration at Near East
University. He has been serving as the head of the Department of Architectural Restoration of Vocational
School at Near East University since 2019. His academic interests include History of Art and Architecture,
History of Interior Architecture and Furniture, Art Theories, Art and Visual Culture, Architectural
Restoration, Mediterranean Architecture. She is married and has two children.
