Ayşe Gertik Türkmen was born in Nicosia on December 18. He completed his primary
education at Dikmen Primary School, his secondary education at Bayraktar Secondary
School, and his high school education at Sedat Simavi Industrial Vocational High School,
Department of Building Drafting. He entered the Near East University Faculty of
Architecture, Department of Architecture in 2002 and graduated from his undergraduate
education in 2008. In 2009, Near East University Institute of Science, Department of
Architecture started its master's degree program at the Faculty of Architecture. He also
worked as a Research Assistant at the faculty. After completing his master's program in 2011
with the thesis titled 'Conception of Biomimesis and a Critical View of Today's Northern
Cyprus Architecture in This Context', he continues to work as a full-time lecturer after
working as a part-time lecturer. He started his PhD program in the same department. After
completing his courses, he completed his PhD program in 2018 with the thesis titled Fractal
Approaches in Biomimetic Design: A Comparative Evaluation on the Works of Le Corbusier
and Patrik Schumacher. She has been working as DGS-YGS Student Transfer Coordinator
since 2012. He has been working as the Architecture Turkish Department Coordinator since
November 2019. He received the title of Assistant Professor on October 31, 2023.
Since 2009, he has taught at the Near East University Faculty of Architecture, Department of
Architecture and Interior Architecture. In addition to theoretical studies, he takes part in
practical projects. He attended national and international conferences and presented papers.
He participated in exhibitions held within the scope of the Faculty of Architecture and in
workshops held jointly with different universities. In 2016, he started teaching at the
University of Kyrenia, Faculty of Architecture, as a part-time lecturer.
