Huriye Gürdallı was born in Nicosia. She graduated from Lefkoşa Türk Maarif Koleji (Turkish Maarif
College in Nicosia) and Faculty of Architecture, Istanbul Technical University in 1994. Continuing her
professional education at Istanbul Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, Department
of Architecture, she completed her master's degree in 1996 with the thesis titled "Historical and
Geographical Factors in the Formation of Architectural Elements in Nicosia, Selimiye Region" and her
PhD in 2004 with her thesis titled "The Place of Formal Education in the Architect's Formation".
She gained professional experience by working on architectural design and application projects with
Prof.Dr. Atilla Yücel and Architect Ayşe Orbay.
Between 2003 and 2006, she worked as a lecturer and Head of the Department of Interior Architecture
at Cyprus International University.
Since the 2006-2007 academic year, she has been lecturing theory courses and leading design studios in
the Departments of Architecture and Interior Architecture at the Near East University Faculty of
Architecture.
She served as Head of the Department of Interior Architecture between March 2014 and January 2018.
She received the title of assistant professor in January 2015 and associate professor in January 2018.
She carries out academic studies on ideology and planning, culture-space and architectural education.
