Experts from the World Famous Botanical Garden presented a seminar at the NEU
The “Eden Project” which was founded by a handful of volunteers in 2001, is one of the most beautiful botanical parks in the world today. The project was presented at NEU by the experts who are working in the project from the very beginning of its establishment. Eden Trust (Eden Project Limited) is a huge botanical park operated by more than five hundred people, with a total of 7253 plant species and subspecies. The Eden Project Botanical Park has the largest greenhouses in the world. Catherine Cutler, the Project Specialist of Eden Project, stated that the Tropical Biome greenhouse has a domed greenhouse on an area of ​​15590 m2 and that visitors can observe the rubber, banana and bamboo plants that are rising in the area and has about 1200 plant species belonging to different regions of the world. Botanical and Engineering Expert Michael Cutler, who is working in the Eden Project, provided information about irrigation, temperature and maintenance units in the Eden Project.

Seminar Intense Interest
The seminar was held at NEU Grand Library and Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt, Forest Office Director Ercan Poyraz, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Prof. Dr. Zeynep Onur, Director, NEU Institute of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Hüsnü Can Başer, Vice Dean Assist. Prof. Dr. Sema Uzunoğlu, Head of Department of Architecture Assist. Prof. Dr. Kozan Uzunoğlu, Tashkent Nature Park representatives, Kleideskop Tourism Director, Academicians and students attended. After the seminar which attracted great attention, the audience received detailed information by asking some questions to the experts. Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kurt presented the “Acknowledgment Certificate” to the experts and stated that they were honoured to welcome them at Near East University.

Eden Project with International Partners around the World
The Eden Project executives work with various international partners to shape and build new Eden Projects in different parts of the world. They are currently developing three projects in China. One of the projects is Eden Qingdao, which is working on water contact to show the importance of water for life in the world. They have similar projects in Australia, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, and USA.

The students of NEU Landscape Architecture will be able to do their internship in the Eden Project.
Following the presentation of the Eden Project, the Head of the Department of Landscape Architecture Assoc. Prof. Özge Fuller, announced that “the students of the Department of Landscape Architecture at the Near East University, 2018-2019 academic year from the fall semester of can do their practical internship at the Eden Project”. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özge Fuller, also explained that students who holds at least 2.72 CGPA academic success degree and also students with a good level of English, can do their internship application to the Landscape Architecture Department.
